Smile Empty Soul was formed by rebellious high school students of Santa Clarita, California. The band consist of Sean Danielson, Derek Gledhill, and Ryan Martin. Smile Empty Soul started out by playing gigs around their hometown,but Eventually moved to the Sunset Strip. They gave their demo to ThroBack memeber, Todd Parker. Who showed them some contacts. They signed to Jason Flom's Lava. Lava was more profound now that they had success with their singer Kid Rock. May 2003, Smile Empty Soul's first album, which is self-titled,finally hit the public. The album consist of hits like This is War, Nowhere Kids, and Bottom of a Bottle.
